Episode 2: Emerging from Strong Women

Download | Duration: 00:04:43

‘What will they say about you?" is a poem that I wrote and recorded with my mother, Carrie in her room in a nursing home facility. She has terminal cancer that has been in remission for a few years now. In September, she had a stroke, impacting her speech and yet, she still shines. She has shown to me time and time again that life does not have to kill your Spirit and that you can use the circumstances of your life to have compassion for yourself and others. My mother is a warrior. You could never swim to the bottom of her love. I am my mother's daughter.

    Kisha, thanks for this!

Listening to this podcast with your amazing mother adds to the story that I know about you, especially having heard some more depth to your story in Dr. Blake's class. Thanks for working on this website project and for sharing it with the world.

When I leave the cozy home of the GTU in August, I'll be really happy to keep connected here to what you're doing!

    Blessings,
    Elizabeth
